Rose Early to Lead
Wyndham Championship, Greensboro, has teed off this week and Britain’s Justin Rose in one shot off the lead. He carded a five under par 65 in first rand which has firmly placed him on top of the leader board.
Rose could have taken the lead however he three putted at the 18th leaving him with Brandt Snedeker, Chez Reavie and Ryan Moore. There was only a small amount of the field which completed their first day as there was a four hour delay due to heavy rain.
Chris Riley was one of the top who did not finish with five under for 14 holes. Eight players returned three under par rounds of 66 with Fred Couples and John Daly among them.
Snedeker injured himself recently during the Masters in April. He cracked a rib and he was out for over 7 week, he said prior to the tournament he was in good form and the American was happy to prove it on Thursday.
"I was excited coming in this week. I knew I was playing good," said Snedeker, who won the event two years ago at a different course.
"I putted great today and hit a lot of really great iron shots.
"My driver left me for five or six holes but I was able to make a bunch of pars and get away with it."
