Golf Digest reckons the odds of an amateur golfer recording two holes-in-one in the same round are 9.2 million to 1. In which case we hope 15-year-old Isabella Skinner’s parents laid down a bet on her!
The American junior from Cummings, Georgia registered two holes in one at the final round of the Carolina-Georgia Junior Championship on Monday afternoon.
Skinner aced #3 and #11 en route to a one over 73 but remarkably still fell one shot short of winning the event as McKenzie Talbert picked up the win at Mount Vintage golf course.
Although, after Skinner’s achievement, it almost seems like the winner is by the by.
“It’s insane,” Skinner told the Augusta Chronicle. “I’m in shock. It doesn’t feel real.”
“I feel really lucky to have that happen,” Skinner said. “One was good enough, but two was a complete shock. I wasn’t feeling too well this morning, but I woke up and when that first one happened, it gave me the confidence and momentum, and I kept going with it. When that second one happened, it was unreal.” |
